Specialism: Property management (Surveying)
Job description
Our client, a National specialist piling Contractor, now requires a fully qualified Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to work on exciting specialist projects Nationally.
The successful candidate will be based in the Midlands and be responsible for the professional delivery of the full commercial function of projects up to £3m in value, or several projects up to £1m in value at one time.
In order to be considered for the role you will be required to demonstrate practical experience in a similar role on civil projects, and experience in NEC and ICE Forms of Contract and Subcontract.
You must also be computer literate with experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Project packages.
Duties will include:
Timely submission of valuations to Client
Maximisation of remeasurement or variation opportunities and final account
Negotiation with Client organisation
Cash-flow management
Control of project costs with Project Manager and in realisation of the Commercial Plan
Production of weekly and monthly reports
Production of accurate out-turn forecasts
Recognition and management of risks and alternatives
Negotiation with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure packages are let within allowances
Raising of subcontract and materials/plant purchase orders
Settlement of subcontract interim and final accounts
Estimating including quantity takeoffs from drawings and materials pricing
Integral member of project delivery team
