Job description
Senior Project Manager - National Consultancy - Newcastle
 
The opportunity to join a busy team of Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors with a base in the Newcastle upon Tyne Office, working on some major projects in the Public and Property Sectors.

Responsibilities


- Leading a project team in the efficient delivery of promised outcomes to clients and client project requirements from inception to completion
- Maintaining motivated and capable people in service delivery teams and development of own expertise
- Client satisfaction leading to new income streams from of existing clients
- Providing client contact and translation and development of the brief
- Set up and delivery of good practice project management systems and controls
- Establishment, management and updating programmes
- Preparation and evaluation of tenders
- Post contract administration
- Chairing and managing meetings throughout the project lifetime
- Development of expertise and capturing and sharing of delivery knowledge to the project management and sector communities
- Commerciality on projects - project margins, cash collection and control of commercial risk arising from service delivery

Skills / Experience Required

- Professional & diligent manner
- Ability to generate and maintain trust from clients and respect from piers, consultants and contractors
- Ability to seek and recognise opportunities for future projects and commissions
- Flexible approach
- Committed to providing a high quality service to standards set by the Group and clients
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Good presentation and report writing skills
- Good management skills
- IT literate
- Knowledge of fundamental project management systems and procedures in the construction industry
- Knowledge of various forms of contract including JCT & NEC3

- Preferably from a Quantity Surveying background with a BSc in Quantity Surveying and MRICS with at least five years post chartership experience of project management in the Property and Public Sectors at a senior level. APM and PRINCE2 membership and accreditation also desirable.
